Some countries don't have middle lanes on their motorways. The problem is that once you pass your test you can drive on a motorway but you never get shown how to do it unless you do pass plus. Something is wrong there. No wonder no one knows how to use it correctly.

The middle lane is for people who drive sensibly on the motorway.
The first lane is for the pensioners that won't entertain going over 55mph, and then the third lane is for the idiots who want to break the speed limits set on the motorway.

Depends on my mood at the time. Normally I use it for overtaking slower traffic in the left lane. But if I feel like annoying other drivers then I stick in the middle lane and watch all the antics of others. (only joking)

The reason for the middle lane is for overtaking hence its name "The overtaking lane" and if someone continues to sit in it there called "a lane hogger"
