taken from the quote, ''the theatre is the one medium that forces, by its very
limitations, that confrontation between an abstraction and a person,
between a system and a group of individual people, between social
history, or political theory, and the actual life of a man and woman'.
needing to discuss the quote but having trouble with the 'abstraction' part!

who wrote this abomination? It says the theatre forces all of these confrontations. Perhaps it means that a character in a play is the meeting and the synthesis between abstraction and a real person which means that a character in a play is an imaginary symbolic representation of a human being. The rest of this quote disturbs me. Do write me and give me the source. Doc
