Fire them right now. Make any of them in any government supplied housing right now and by all means send in the Vets that are volunteering

Diplomats are not trained and are not usually asked to serve in war zones, that is the job of the military. They are only being ask to serve in Iraq because the administration is trying to pretend that it is not war zone. No American can move around in Iraq without armed guards and there are not enough troops to protect diplomats so they depend on private security like Backwater who the Iraqis are trying to kick out of the country. If we fire every one who refuses to work under these conditions, there will be no experts on the middle east left to send if/when security is established in Iraq. It takes years or training to be an effective diplomat.

Fired. We all have a choice about the jobs that we take. Maybe someone would do a story on why these Diplomats don't want to go. You know, since the surge is working so well and all.

No. They did NOT take the same kind of oath a soldier takes. They are simply employees--and can quit if they choose.
Also--like any other Amrican--they have a RIGHT to voice their opinion--that's what this country is all about.

I have a job, if I don't do what I am required to do they will fire and replace me, simple as that.
these guys have had cushy living for all this time now are afraid to lose it. tough, they knew their job had risks. if they cant handle it, they don't need to be there.
