Why do I still bleed & clot heavily despite taking an Alesse pill once a day?

The Alesse has controlled the bleeding, but recently I have started spotting, & now I am bleeding heavily in the morning & clotting. By the evening I am not as bad. The Alesse doesn't seem to be working as well. I am 47, I have fibroids on my ovaries. What is going on?

The amount of estrogen in the Alesse could be too low for your body to handle. I've had this happen before when trying pills with the amount of estrogen in pills like the Alesse. The other possibility is that an infection could be going on but the only way to find out for sure what is going on is to see your doctor for further evaluation to see what they think could be going on.
