here's the thing. i tried to change the processor of my computer with a faster and better one and i thought it would work. but when i turn the computer on the fans were spinning the led is lit but there were no beep or and my monitor shows a message of 'no signal or cable disconnected' of some sort. i don't know what to do. i tried visiting sites to help me with my problem but its no use.

P.S.
can anyone also tell me if it is possible to increase/decrease the CPU multiplier and if it is also possible to attain a 100 Fsb even if you dont have the 100 Fsb selection on your bios

Apparently this upgrade cpu isn't compatible with your motherboard. If the old cpu still works, use it and then do some research on the board to see what it can support.

As for playing around with the multiplier, that is called over clocking and can damage both the board and the cpu.

If you are looking to speed up your system, a new mobo/cpu might be the way to go. Check the following sites. What you want to look for in a mobo, cpu combanation.

Email me,(through Yahoo Answers), the motherboard/cpu spec's you're trying to use. If your BIOS Setup Utility has a Soft Cpu Option you could try to change the multiplier, or voltage,(or both). If it's an AMD cpu you might have some luck, soldering a jumper across the bottom,(special place),(NOT for the timid!) Old Intel cpu.............................

try replugging the vga or dvi moniter connecter tomake sure it's firm. did you follow instructions on how to upgrade cpu? if not you're going to have a problem.

for the cpu multiplier and fsb, you need an overclocking software in your bios
