I guess personally I would love to explore Mystras...There are some absolutely beautiful ruins there. I love the idea of wandering through a town from centuries past.

Where would you like to explore or visit?

The pass of Thermopylae where the 300 Spartans lead by Leonidas fought the invading Persian Army off lead by Xerxes. I know that there probably is nothing there, but I just want to feel the histroy and bravery of those men.

LUCKILY,I HAVE VISITED ALL THE SITES IN GREECE,ALSO MOST OF THE ABANDONED TOWNS AND VILLAGES LEFT BY THE GREEKS IN TURKEY.Turkey is the gateway to the past,it would take at least 6 months to fully see all the sites in turkey,i hired a car and spent 3 months just going from site to site, negotiating digs on arrival. All the sites are special to me ,whichever country i am in.I would have liked, to travel the complete length of the Silk Road, by motorbyke, from one end to the other, tracing all the old caravanisaries en route, and stopping over at the sites.

Two Very good places I have been to which were very fascinating:

Knossos - Expecially walking around in the ruins of the 'Labyrinth'

Spinalonga - The ancient ruins from where they put all the lepers and trapped them there to stop them from spreading it in Greece/Crete.

If you do ever decide to go on a holiday in Crete (Greece) definitily go on a trip to either of these, very worth it!

I'll have to ask my son-he's been to Athens many times. His friend grew up in Athens.
