Yes he was, as most black people were before the sixties, I think it was Nixon or Ronald Reagan who really caused the shift. Woodrow Wilson was one of the biggest offenders for the democrats, he invoked the resurgence of the Klan, By endorsing "Birth of A Nation." That being said both parties, ain't worth a blood nickel.

You are of course are right but to say so is politically incorrect and will upset the cool aid drinking left wingers . Also the war between the Unionists and Confederates was about the Federalists wanting complete control and denying certain southern states the right to secede the Union which is a Constitutional right. It was not to do with slavery many northern generals were racists and didn't give a damn about slavery in fact some held slaves. Did you know also Charlton Heston was a close friend of Martin Luther King Jr which exposes the awful slander that Michael Moore tried to portray him a racist in his docufable Bowling For Columbine.

GEE! You left out Senator Byrd (D) of N. Carolina, who was a member of the KKK.
Yes. I am proud of the general history of the Republican party from Abraham Lincoln through Ronald Reagan (who's likeness should be added to Mount Rushmore).
Republicans BELIEVE in freedom for ALL regardless of race and BELIEVE Socialism and Marxism, philosophies pursued by the extreme left of the Democratic party, will lead to a "One World Government", and enslavement of all but a few of the elitists in their Party.

Dr. King would certainly be very disappointed with Jesse Jackson, Al Sharpton, etc.

Dr. King wanted us to live together as equals, where we judged our neighbors based on the content of their character, not the color of our skin.

Jackson & Sharpton just want everone who is black to HATE everyone who is white, in other words they are PROMOTING racism.

Dr. King had good sense, intelligence, courage, hope, love and faith. Todays "Black leaders" have nothing but hatred, big mouths, and a hunger for publicity.
