Shlepping my suitcase from one temporary accommodation to another, I`ve become an embarrassment to myself and to everyone else.

Emma Tennant`s jacket cover brings it all home.

Not entirely my fault however; as living outside London is too damn inaccessible and living within the city precincts too damn expensive.

The experiences I did have with regard to living in lower-middle-class environments haven`t encouraged me to try it again, as there was bullying, intimidation, etc.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Which jacket cover? I am not familiar with Emma Tennant's books. I have not been in your situation, but if I had not moved from my home state, I could have faced something similar. Living costs there are now at least twice what they are where I live now. I had a decent retirement from my employer and the senior housing is very reasonable here.
I hope someone can advise you and you find a safe living environment.

You do not have any friends or family that might offer you shelter? Check the newspaper for someone that might be wanting to share expenses. Or, look for a women's shelter.Where are you using a computer? Maybe they would have some ideas. If you lived in the US, I would let you stay with me as expenses are getting high for a single woman here. Take care and good luck!!
