Michigan is prime example of total and complete ineptness of a liberal administration runamuck. Although, some blame can be placed on the US auto manufacturers who are losing ground to toyota, Honda etc. Whats happening here is reminiscent of whats been happening in Louisiana-high taxes, high welfare state, high crime, etc. What needs to happen is taxes need to be slashed across the board. Industries need to be de-regulated. Give companies incentives to move businesses there, like tax abatements or empowerment zones. Here, in Texas we have many of these, and our area is booming, its all about money.

And for God sakes, plese end the welfare state. Welfare once created, bloats like the fat lady at Sunday brunch. The more you feed it the more folks ween off of it. This is one of the reasons for high taxes (ie-illegal confiscation and redistribution of capital). Minimum wage need to be lowered and other price controls abolished...now!

What this area needs is to go back in time and redevelop. This area was primarily booming from the auto industry and now that that is going down hill there is no huge industry to fall back on! We (meaning my family) have been largly impacted by the deterioration of the industry. So now we are stuck here with me and the my baby and a $2000 mortgage/ $6000 a year in taxes, in a house that we cannot sell, and a husband that has to work in another state just so we can keep on top of things. This area relied way to much on the industry. Granholm needs to start bringing more larger and diverse AMERICAN industries to the area! I have many more ideas on this topic, good question....I just have a baby to take care of and no daddy here to help me thanks to the lack of work here in Michigan.

Stop giving away cheap land to foreign companies, create more empowerment zones, lower sales tax to stimulate the economy, give tax breaks to high-tech, US businesses, interest free small business loans. The only reason I voted for Jen, was b/c she was the lesser of the two undesireables.

you need to vote in people who will free up tax money by letting companies come in and not get charged an arm and a leg to do business in michigan. dems do not understand that. today they are socialists like europeans, who simply never bought into capitalism anyway. usually repubs understand it best but some of them have become tax agents themselves. good luck in mich!!

Yes kinda satisfied, but the tax on everything makes it tough, but we all need to pitch in and help. So to get out of this mess we need to keep going. We are making progress!
