I'm all for firing him for the same reason St. Louis needs to fire Scott Linehan - he can't coach! He's trying to run a 3-4 - a crap scheme to begin with - with personnel that is better suited for Tampa 2 (what Herm Edwards runs). Also, what's he doing starting an ineffective Chad Pennington week after week? And, he clearly has a beef with Belichick.

I am not a Jets fan, really haven't paid much attention to the Jets since Parcells left. Where did Mangini get that nickname? When I think of genius Mangini does not come to mind. Mangini is a failure and he fits the Jets franchise which is also a failure. Let him keep his job he seems to fit.

no he is a cry baby that needs to get out of the NFL and start coaching kids on not snitching he is the biggest snitch in the league yet most people had not realized but Mangini has used the same tactics as the other teams like filming on the side lines his camera was taken away as well. the same day he accused the Patriots of cheating he needs to grow up and face the truth he sucksss

Mangini is a decent coach (especially defense) with a lousy team. he can't throw or catch the ball for the players, or tackle for them either. He can't fill in for Vilma and Coles when they are injured. he deserves another season.
The Jets are 1-7 now, and if you look at their schedule they will be hard pressed to win 3 games this year. At least they should be able to beat the Dolphins.

Eric Mangini is Eric Mangenius, why should he be fired. Even if this season didn't work out as planned, there's alwasy next season. There'll be fire next time.

Mangenious...HA HA HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It always amazes me how quickly the NFL-covering media want to produce the anointing oil.
Clearly the man overachieved in his first season.
