Seems like they all stay home and expound only from their own political reasoning and thinking instead of being there to see what is taking place. It is all very much biased second-hand pass outs..

Well its really dangerous out there ......There are suicide bombers bombing every minute in one place or the other any person who has a family to look after wouldnt go there......but the least they can do is employ local people to cover the actual details and come out with actual political reasoning...The truth should not be withheld for the sake of a few lives......however..i pity the condition of the soldiers over there.. .....I Condemn the US government for letting them die over there....for no mistake of theirs n that of the Iraqi citizens

The same reason we're not allowed to see any pictures/ video of dead soldiers coming home in their flag draped coffins.
Media coverage is strictly controlled to allow only favorable reports from "embedded" sources. What's the point of going to the conflict if you're not free to report on actual events and show relevant footage?

I believe Dan Rather, Brian Williams, and Anderson Cooper have all been there, although they were not allowed into combat zones.
