Take a ferry to Manly and look around. Take the bus to Watson's Bay and have lunch at Doyles or at the Pub or on the jetty then check out The Gap and South Head. Walk from Circular Quay through the Argyle Cut to Observatory Hill and Millers Point. Explore the Observatory, the Garrison Church and Sydney's oldest pubs (the Lord Nelson brews its own beer). Walk from the Quay to the Opera House and on through the botanic gardens to Mrs Macquaries Chair. Stroll back through the gardens to the Art Gallery and Macquarie Street. Go to the top of Centrepoint tower and enjoy the view or go up there for lunch in the revolving restaurant. Take a bus or a train and bus to Bondi Beach, you can't go to Sydney and not go to Bondi. Take the train to Olympic Park and see where the Games were held in 2000. (train to Lidcombe and change to the shuttle to the Park). Go and watch the Sydney Swans at the Sydney Cricket Ground in the Australian Football League. If you haven't seen Australian football, you have a treat in store.

Don't miss Taronga Park zoo. Get the tickets at Circular Quay - ferry to the Zoo, cablecar to the top, zoo entry and ferry back again. The zoo is on the side of a steep hill. Unless you are a mountaineer and like that sort of thing, start at the top and walk down, do not think of starting at the bottom.

By the way, the Harbour Bridge climb is popular but it is expensive and you can carry neither a camera nor a phone with you. You can't take pictures although a photo of you at the top is provided and you can't ring your friends and say "Guess where I am".

DO THE HARBOUR BRIDGE CLIMB - dispite what SOME people might say it is an experience of a life time... where else in the world can you do this? being in Sydney you want to have that memory of climbing the bridge.... you don't want to go home and regret not doing it (and trust me you will)... i live in Sydney and did it..... and i loved it!!! you would appreciate it more i think if you were a toursit..... it is a must..... it is cheaper if you go during the week and during the day... just a little tip..

Also, the Aquarium and Pier 26 in Darling Harbour We also went to Kuringai (national park) and don't forget a trip to the Hunter Valley (vineyards, lots of wonderful wines to taste!). Then there's Palm Beach where they film the beach scenes for Home and Away. Also a trip up the mountains to see the three (or is it seven?) sisters. There is absolutely tons to do and see. Have a great time
