Does it has to do with the fact that we have more free time?

People die unnatural deaths more on weekends (through fights, car accidents, etc) - you can verify this by visiting the casualty ward on a Saturday night and seeing how much fuller it is than usual.

People die natural deaths most often early in the morning, but I'm not sure which day of the week. Apparently, people tend not to die just before big events like religious festivals. It's like they hold out so they can see the festival through.
