Depends. If you are committed to one another, then the temporary time you're apart shouldn't separate you. On the other hand, to love someone at a distance, might not last without some one on one time occasionally, to fuse the relationship.
Tough question, I'll give you a star.

Admittedly, I haven't been in this relationship very long, but absence definitely makes my heart grow fonder.

Depends upon the time frame and people involved but I think absence is more likely to make the heart wander as a general rule, especially in this day and age.

I tend to get over things quick so I'd have to say it makes the heart grow weaker in the relationship status. My girl went to her Mothers for 5 weeks when originally she said it would only be two weeks and I was ready to pull the emotional plug by the time she returned. It did significant damage to our relationship and we are still a bit iffy .

if it's a true thing from the heart, it definately grows fonder and stronger, but if it's not real then it slowly becomes out of sight, out of mind.... i have one from 10 years ago that i seem to love more and more instead of less everyday..... it's hard sometimes to deal with.

It takes a very committed couple to keep the fire going. Time and distance makes you long for someone you love for a while but the same longing can also drive you to find others that can fill the empty space. And down goes the relationship.
