depends how much you weigh.
I know if you run over them with a car they will definitely crunch. But just stepping on them? You'd probably have to be ridiculously obese. Or actually jump down onto it.

I honestly haven't stood on one before but I assume they wouldn't crunch because their shells are so tough (the same density as human teeth) so it'd be pretty hard to crunch them. Maybe with the right amount of force like a brisk swing of a hammer or something of the metal variety. Maybe like a really small turtle with an undeveloped shell would. Anyway I'm to empathetic towards any living thing to test the theory.

A turtles's shell like back is very hard.,no they don't crunch when you step on them.
