Double the speed means FASTER!

so, by that the Astronauts would be younger double the amout of the rest of the world.

BUT

Half the speed means SLOWER!

so, by that the Astronauts would be Older double the amout of the rest of the world.

Hello Swnd -
It's not a bad question, and I do understand it. Your choice of double the speed of the earth falls far short of anything that would result in noticeable effects due to relativity. In fact, the spacecraft would need to travel at very near the speed of light in order to produce those effects. And then, after traveling away and back at near the speed of light, the astronauts will have aged less, not more, than their friends at home. This is the classic Twin Paradox that is part of any course of study in modern physics. It is not an illusion, and it is not a weird side effect. It is just the way the universe seems to work. nope.

relativistist effects are measurable, but barely at those velocities.

>90% of the speed of light, the effects are pronounced.
