The Colorado Avalanche! Let me tell you that they are not one of the best, but the fans are extremely loyal, and the team is highly watchable. I would say that it is the most FUN team to watch in the NHL! Why is that? Because they have the 2nd best offensive lineup in the entire league! But they have bad goaltending, so they usually give up a lot of goals. The games are always like 5-4 or 4-3 or 6-4, very high-scoring, fun to watch games. They also have Joe Sakic, one of the best players ever, he is currently 8th on the all-time scoring list, he is 38 but still plays like he's 28. Trust me, you can't go wrong cheering for the Avalanche!

thats a hard thing to ask with so many different fans

and i must say i'm biased because the Philadelphia Flyers are my favorite, but they have an insanely loyal fanbase, plus we are known as the "broadstreet bullies", the second most penalty minutes in the league(i mean seriously, fights are half the reason to watch hockey right?) while at the same time retaining respect and amazing playing.. plus we were named the most improved team in the NHL this year. just read some history on the team

but any canadian team is good too, you can't beat the canadians loyalty

Well, the Lightning are about as OK as it gets. At 5-6-1, we're just about average for the league this year. Which is a big surprise because of scoring superstars Vinny Lecavalier and Marty St. Louis. It's incredible how these two guys KNOW where each other is going to be. Our radio broadcaster said it best when he said "It's like they've got GPS inside their jerseys." If our goal tending pulls around, we could be going into the playoffs this year. If not, a big trade may be brought in to get that goaltender.

Even though we take a lot of flak for being in Tampa, Florida, the Lightning have a rather large fan base. I mean who else are we gonna support down here? The Buccaneers? The Devil Rays? And we just added a new scoreboard to the St, Pete Times Forum

(I should work in marketing....)

Carolina Hurricanes have a fun game to watch- Fast and we get a lot of powerplays because of it. if you want a team that's a little more mediocre, try the Blue Jackets. they have a great start this year and might actually make the playoffs this year, so that would give you something to root for when you're watching over the course of the season. Some very good players too- Federov, Nash, and now Le Clair is finally living up to expectation.

But I would go with the Hurricanes- Freak of nature (in a good way) Brind'Amour, Eric Staal, Erik Cole, one of the best power forwards in the league, Stillman, one of the best passers, and the 2006 Conn Smythe winner Cam Ward. (along with many more, such as fan favorite defenseman Mike Commodore)

Buffalo is a team that floats between above average to average. Most of their talent is from developing young players, so it's a good bet that you can follow the players as they grow. They have good speed which is always entertaining, and they have relatively loyal fans though I doubt they'll continue to have the support they had the past couple of seasons. They have never been a team that could buy wins as they are one of if not the smallest market. This was especially true before the lockout, and may be true again as the cap is being pushed up. Management can be very frustrating/arrogant though.

I agree Toronto Maple leafs are not a good choice.

I would say Montreal Canadiens hands down because I love them. They have a lot of new players this year. People say they are not going to do well but they are doing great so far and I'ld like to see them prove all wrong.

They also say Sydney Crosby who plays for Pittsburgh Penguins is the next Wayne Gretzky. When Gretzky was asked if he thought anyone could break his records, he answered that Sidney Crosby could, and added that Crosby was the best player he had seen since Mario Lemieux. Crosby is fun to watch.

New Jersey Devils. They have the best goalie who ever lived(Patrick Roy sucks). The devils have the coolest arena and have opened up the style of game and play more aggressive than ever before. Last year the devils were the best team to come back in the last minute and tie a game. Plus the devils always make the playoffs.

I wouldn't ask for a team to support. Watch some games and read some articles and come up with your own opinion. If u dont get much NHL on TV in the UK. check out TSN.ca, its the Canadian version of ESPN and is very focused on hockey, the have video clips of game highlights that you can check out. The bottom line do some research and find you own favourite. That's my advice.
