I am a Dem, and a left leaning one at that; but that article is off the mark.
Sure, plenty of poor folks don't have driver's licenses, but they can get, without too much effort, i.d.'s. Requiring i.d. to vote is no more racist than requiring i.d. to pick up prescription medication, or buy smokes or booze.
For that matter, requiring i.d. has the nice fringe benefit of cutting down on voter fraud.

The guy mentioned should be fired or worse along with anyone that supervised him.
However, I totally agree with the Georgia law that required voters to carry ID. That is a minimum amount of effort.
I also believe the Democrats whining about the last two elections is garbage.
The electoral system needs many, many improvements. Most involve people voting that should not be allowed, few the other direction.
I grew up in Chicago and saw how the Democratic machine could find votes in cemeteries. Chain voting was also a plague before the modern machines. I still believe it was the 1960 election that was stolen.
