Vanessa carlton's song Annie, What is it about? is it about her daughter or someone dying/ i can't tell. tell me!

She says she's with her boyfriend when she's with this girl so I'm assuming it's a friend. The line that says "I'd give my bones" suggests she's dying of leukemia and isn't expected to make it. I would suggest it's a fan but that's not for sure.

I'm shocked you're buying Vanessa Carlton albums without knowing what she writes about, but it's cool that you're learning and exploring. Send me an E-mail anytime you don't understand music lyrics. Ms. Carlton is not a personal favorite, but great lyrics writers are.

This is what I've heard/read from other sources. It's about a girl that Vanessa met through a charity organization or something. I can't remember exactly what. The girl had leukemia, and was apparently supposed to die. The girl's wish was to meet Vanessa Carlton, and apparently Vanessa was so touched by meeting her (her name was Victoria, I believe) that she wrote a song about it. (She named the song "Annie" because it was easier to say or something.) The good news is, Victoria survived. The song is probably one of my all time favorites, and I cried when I first heard it. I love it! I hope this helped.
