Because Americans are attracted to style much more than substance. Remember they made a nitwit actor a president. If you had an attractive performing dog, they'd vote for it too.

Last time I heard, the congress is even more incompetent than the President. Something like 11% approval rating by the American people. We voted these schmucks in as well. We need to start thinking a bit more before we cast votes and quit voting on the basis of party lines. I say Senators and Representatives should have term limits. When they serve too long they become corrupt.

Because most of the people that are nominated for voting are incompetent so it's not easy to find someone competent to vote.

You get the government you deserve in a 'democracy'. Of course Europe, and in particular the UK don't get to vote for 'he who would be King' - or emperor, or our supreme leader.

I assume you're talking about Al Gore and that Kerry fella. Rather than blame the folks that voted for them, let's just be thankful they didn't win.

incompetent? well we thought he could kill all the people in N.Y., then shift the hurricane to louisiana, then start fires in california w/ the help of global warming.

i think that people believe too much of what they hear & see on tv. by the way, he lost the election the first time but got in anyway.
