My first feelings werre really just like very light butterflys in the tummy. As you progress they will get stronger but for now you'll just feel very light little stirings!!

I would say at 17 weeks what you are feeling most likely is the baby. I never felt any flutters or movement, just got a nudge at 18 weeks. It was very quiet for 2-3 days and hasn't stopped since. When you do get a kick or a nudge you will know it is your baby, there is no feeling like it. Congrats and enjoy it, it won't be long now.

I thought it kind of felt like little bubbles popping early on. It's very faint and does feel a little like gas (w/o pain) but will generally happen a few times in a row. Especially after eating, try drinking some hot chocolate later tonite that should get the little one going for a little while.

For me it felt like when you are driving over a hump in the road and you have that weird tickly feeling in your stomach.
I wasn't sure initially, but after it started happening regularly, I then knew it was the baby. I started to feel it at 24 weeks, but I believe that varies significantly.
People give alot of different descriptions, I would say if what you're feeling becomes regular, then it's the baby.

Well to me they were like flutters (think butterfly fluttering, lol!)or bubbles popping in my tummy. 17 weeks is about right for this sort of thing.
If its gas you'd be farting/burping soon after you feel the feeling you described!
Probably is the bubs moving I'd say!!
Congrats!

You should feel as though your stomach is full, and sometimes you can see part of the baby bulging out from your tummy, and you can caress it through your skin. It's really a wonderful feeling, to know that there is life inside of you.

Well I'm 29 weeks and I can see a kick every now and then under my clothes, but at your stage its just flutters or trapped wind as you said.
