I wouldn't put it past him to try to pull something like this. I heard rumors that he was trying to make it to wear a president could be in office for more than two terms but saw nothing to confirm this. If you have any articles on this they would be appreciated. I pray he doesn't try this. 1/20/09 BUSH'S LAST DAY!...It'd be nice if he was impeached and thrown out of office before then.

Bush could do it. He could change the constitution. He's taken away constitutional rights, so who's to say he won't actually try to make changes to it? The constitution has been changed many times in its history. Did you know it once allowed people the right to take whatever they wanted into their bodies?

For the people calling me liberal or democrat, just want to let you know the times I've voted, I voted independent or reformist.

At stage of the game I would not put any things past Bush and Cheney. This past week Bush has been acting like child about congress and they will not rubber stamp his agenda. Now that Democrats control congress its called checks and balance George.

Knowing the Bush and the Republicans they will come with some clever trick to raise terrorism level before the election and declare the election null and void. If a Democrat wins.

The Constitution does not allow Bush to stay for a third term. Congress proposed the amendment to the Constitution that Presidential terms be limited to 2. Congress can do this and completely bypass the President.

He has can not do this in any way by himself.

This would require a constitutional amendment, which would have to ratified by 3/4 of STATE governors and then put to a state referendum vote OR a 3/4 vote by both houses of Congress, then put out to each state to pass, which 3/4 must do.

This is not something he can just do through an executive order.

Well, since the constitution says he can't then I guess not. Oh, but bush already nullified most of the constitution, with the Patriot Act, so I bet he might just figure out a way.

Grow up.

He has a 35% approval rating. You think he wants to stick around and take any more abuse from the ignorant and uneducated?

You think Congress would actually pass a bill that would even allow him to run for a third term?

You think the military would back him if he tried a military coup?

I'm personally glad you libs are getting a taste of how we felt every day Clinton spent in office. Its fun watching you guys freak out. Keep it up and a Republican will win the White House next year, also!

The irony of your question is that not one of the Republican applicants working for the Presidency evoke his call at their campaigns, nor do they affiliate themselves together with his regulations or plans. Judging via the final couple of Caucuses and Primaries; many Republicans are balloting Democratically alongside with the Independents. No way might I vote for Bush Jr., understanding what i understand now!

Uh, dude, let's get back on the med's before you hurt yourself.

The President CANNOT change the constitution, it takes lot's of other things to happen, like ratification of the majority of states.

You ought to try reading the thing before you just get on here and type.

All it would take is for him to label a situation an 'emergency' and the elections would be post-poned indefinately.

A few things seem suspicious-------------------------------------------------that he gave himself power over everything-----------He can produce a list of 'enemy combatants' that the F B is compiling that includes those who have simply voiced an opinion against the war(possibly through the Internet with all the new embedded programs also)----------those 800+ 'detention' camps across the States topped by _lackwater's desire to come back HERE

my apologies, i continually think liberal extremists cant hit a new low in this forum but you certainly have set the benchmark. how many times do you liberals need to hear it before it sinks in....
NO
IMPEACHABLE
BEHAVIOR
EXISTS...
and as far as bush staying in office, when you consider the antics of the last liberal president, bush is a welcome relief

- The only president ever impeached on grounds of personal malfeasance
- Most number of convictions and guilty pleas by friends and associates*
- Most number of cabinet officials to come under criminal investigation
- Most number of witnesses to flee country or refuse to testify
- Most number of witnesses to die suddenly
- First president sued for sexual harassment.
- First president accused of rape.
- First first lady to come under criminal investigation
- Largest criminal plea agreement in an illegal campaign contribution case
- First president to establish a legal defense fund.
- First president to be held in contempt of court
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions
- Greatest amount of illegal campaign contributions from abroad
- First president disbarred from the US Supreme Court and a state court
no one is going to change the constitution or laws on term limits to encourage more liberal whining of this sort, you can count on it. and as for praying....
uss cole
clinton no response
african embassy bombings
clinton no response
wtc one
clinton no response
at least six chances to capture or kill bin laden in sudan
clinton no reponse
...
you should pray that the next liberal extremist you appoint learns a lesson or two from the last one.

liberals have no shame...none whatsoever.
