I still watch A Christmas Story at least once during the season, even though they are ruining it by showing it 24 hours on Christmas Eve but oh well. Some others I really like are
Love Actually
It's a Wonderful Life
Scrooged
A Nightmare Before Christmas
The Santa Clause

It's cheesy, I know, but I love watching the movie Home Alone at Christmastime. The ending always gives me a warm, happy feeling inside.
Other Christmas movies I love include:
Elf
A Christmas Story
A Christmas Carol in all of it's different versions (one year I watched ALL of them throughout the season)
Nightmare Before Christmas
Movies that take place at Christmas time that I would consider to be alternative include:
Die Hard
Love, Actually
Gremlins (I seem to remember it taking place around Christmas time!)

I'll be Home for Christmas.. one of my favorite modern christmas movies.
Johnathan Taylor Thomas plays a college student who's father remarried (in his opppinion) too soon after his mother died. Trying to avoid his family for the holidays, he tries to get his gf to join him on a beach vacation for christmas.
What he learns is that she doesnt want to, and he gets offered the family porcshe if he gets home on christmas eve.
So he changes plans and will do anything to get home.
But other people have other plans in mind. When they accuse him of cheating them out of good grades and fake ID's, they dress him as Santa and leave him stuck in the desert with no money.
Now he must race his gf who has gotten a ride from a jealous idiot, and time to get home to get his porshe.
very good movie.
