I'm 37 weeks and 4 days pregnant so not long till he's due date.

Beginning of Thursday I've been getting the false contractions, about 4/5 a day. I know it's not much plus I've been getting menstrual cramps with them too.

But also getting menstrual cramps more frequently now and feel like my belly is aching.

So if my body is getting ready to give birth in a few weeks, does it mean soon or can this happen to anyone and anytime?

I'm 10 days away from my due date and know exactly what you are talking about.

Ive been getting the 'labor imminent' signs for about a week now, still no baby.
The wait kills, I just want to see him so bad!

Watch out for some of these things, they normally (not always) happen within a week of labor if not sooner...

Diarrhea, insomnia, loss of your mucus plug, increase in Braxton hix contractions frequency and severity, slight loss of weight, loss of apatite, heartburn or indigestion goes away, the feeling you have to go to the bathroom when there is nothing to 'go', baby will become more sluggish...

If this is your first baby, he should also 'engage' soon. Some mothers don't 'engage' until right before labor, but this is more common with women who have already been through labor at least once.

I hope you have him soon! I know the wait is killing me!
Good luck and congratulations mommy!

ps The nurse at my hospital said to come in and get checked if you have any of these three:

Gush or trickle of liquid (water breaking)

Blood in ANY amount

Contractions so severe that you cannot walk or talk through them once every 10min or less.

Don't ever take the sleeping pills route!!

1. They will damage your liver big time and you can get into serious health problems.

2. You will get hooked up on them and you won't be able to have a normal life any more if you don't take your pills everyday.

The sleeping pills industry is damaging our health by capitalizing on our ignorance, and by distracting people from effective and natural ways to deal with this problem. I had been taking prescription sleep medications [Ambien] for over 5 years. It stopped working and I simply took more. Still did not work. Nights were very difficult - medication put me to sleep but I would wake up after 2–3 hours with a strong sympathetic response (fast pulse, pounding heartbeat, wide awake alert). It was a very difficult cycle to break. I was really in bad shape due to lack of sleep.

After years of struggling I was able to cure my insomnia naturally and pretty fast. I followed the Sleep Tracks sleep optimization program, here is their official web -site if you want to take a look: http://www.insomniacure.net

Ohhh..and Good Luck!

These sound like Braxton hicks or practice contractions rather than 'false labour'. Unfortunately they aren't an indication of imminent labour most of the time unless they get stronger and more regular.

It could happen anytime to anyone. I got excrutiating braxton hicks for the last two months of my 2nd preg. that felt like labour pains but it took me till 2 days past my due date to actually go into labour.

Sorry thats probably not want you want to hear! You may just have to wait it out love! Try heat packs/hot wheat bag/warmed up damp towel/hot shower accross your lower belly to ease any discomfort.

Good luck!

It sounds like your body is getting ready for action. But it's anyone's guess what the schedule is. When they check you for dilation at your dr appointment, you'll have a better idea.

Good luck!

Are you making sure that you are drinking plenty of water? I ended up in the hospital the other night only to find out it was because I was dehydrated, started drinking water and the same symptoms you are describing went away.
