A person who becomes self confident after being shy, is unlikely to be arrogant, I would imagine that true self confidence is never arrogant, if you are comfortable with yourself, there is no desire to put others down, or to make them feel small.
Being self confident doesn't mean you know all the answers, you are still eager to learn.
It maybe that people who appear confident are arrogant, but I doubt people who are truely self confident would need to be arrogant.

Seems that way, I'm confident and come across arrogant most of the time...and actually am arrogant at times...I'll admit it.
I never said I was arrogant all the time!!! I'm actually a very down to earth person...it just comes out once in a while, I think everyone has their moments.And I said it seems that way, as in a lot of people assume that if people are confident then they are arrogant.

Sometimes. However, I am not confident, and a lot of people think that I am being arrogent. When I become quiet and withdrawn, they mistake my shyness for snootyness (is that how you spell it?) Anyways, I think that sometimes confidence can appear to be stuck up.

There is a big difference between confidence and arrogance.
Confidence usually means you are self assured in the knowledge that you posses.
Arrogance is more brought on back a lack of knowledge and a need to bluster your way through a situation.

No, being quietly confident is fine being boastful and insensitive to the feelings of others is not.
Everyone needs to be confident in order to achieve things in life.

sometimes which is bad if your not but if you are you have to grow up.being an arrogant a** shouldn't get you anywhere but it does...not saying your one.i don't know you.
