Some couples dont wear protection once theyve been together some time. The formal name for sex during the safe timing is called Rhythm, when timing of the period is ended and her cycle is on time, then the first two weeks but to be safe minus a couple days and say 10 days after period is ended. But the family doctor can determine this more accurately. make sure the cycle is regular. after two weeks she enters the ovulation cycle and then it becomes more risky.

easy, don't have sex. Or use condoms, pill, IUD, nuva ring, spermicide, diaphragn. Any one of these should protect you...

otherwise only do it immediately following a period (like 1-2 days after is still touchy) or 1-2 days before its due again. the likelyhood would drop in these days but its never foolproof.

Really, there is no best time, you can become pregnant at any time. Don't play with fire if you don't want to get burnt!
