hello! my sound card is intel (r) 82801ba/bam ac'97 due to reformatting all of my files are deleted including my audio driver. Now I've searched everywhere and found audio drivers, Install it. After that I still don't hear sound ( I checked the Volume settings, and my headphone working) thank you I hope you can help me

Click Start, click Run, type dxdiag, ok. Select Sound tab. If device and driver details are there, you installed the correct driver and you can actually test it there.

Otherwise, you may have to install the proper driver. If you have difficulty installing the driver, try disabling all your startups first before installing. Run msconfig to disable startups. You can enable them after a successful installation.

if your OS is WINDOWS XP it will surely find the right driver when you reboot your pc...uninstall or remove first the audio driver from your system...then try to reboot your pc...if it still doesn't work just install C-MEDIA AUDIO DRIVER and sure your pc will get it sound...

FYI it wont be under windows updates even if you die trying, take it from an IT engineer who fix pcs daily.

the easiest thing to do it update windows and instead of express do custom. Windows usually is linked with intel and updates are usually loaded from windows update. try that.
