People who want to get a license and recieve health care SHOULD PAY TAXES. If they want the benefits of being a citizen, then they should also be responsible and pay tax.

Wow! I'm one of the "token conservatives" in a very liberal town and state. It is awesome to see so many of you writing things I agree with here. Remember it is the squeaky wheel and all that, so keep on contacting your (il)legal representatives. The latest word is that they take hand written letters much more seriously than emails that they often just delete. The info about where to send letters is online. Just look up your state legislature. And teach your grand kids. I can't believe how many of my past college students didn't get the difference between legal and illegal immigrants. They didn't get that they are breaking the law, and they didn't know what their own families had to go through to get here from wherever they came from. We must teach our kids; the schools are not doing it!

I work with a Mexican that I really like, but he still only has a green card. Some of the benefits he gets are such a slap in the face to the Americans that have lived here their whole life. What is wrong with our government? They seem to take better care of the outsiders.

Here in Utah they were allowed to have a drivers license until last year. From what I have heard about the new laws in Oklahoma they seem to be working and Utah is considering implementing some of them also. I contact my state officials and state my point of view regarding immigration issues. I make my voice heard!

YA! IF we can get them social security cards and MAKE them pay taxes, and then maybe we won't have so much cheap labor that Americans can get the jobs too and be paid a fair wage.
Otherwise..NO!

Memaw: have your family get a disability lawyer, they don't ask for money up front and can get them both disability quicker than if they just tried to get it themselves. It sounds like they need disability. If not get that kind of lawyer anyway and see what he can do for them. Without a lawyer it is worthless.

Unless one is a child or disabled, no one who hasn't paid taxes should receive the benefits that are backed by tax monies. That reduces the amounts available to the ones who have worked and paid into the system.

Makes me mad especially when the Americans that worked 50 years and gets real sick can't get anything. My brother in law suddenly had to have major heart surgery and has leukemia and a really bad back can't get crap! His wife is also disabled with a muscle disease. They was offered 24 dollars a month in food stamps. Isn't that a slap in the face. Take care of Americans healthcare before the illegals! Am I right?

Doesn't sound right does it? I'm a citizen and I can't afford health insurance or health care.

Oklahoma is running the illegals out of this state as fast as they can go. Contractors are crying about no labor, but, watch the workers come out of the woodwork. They may have to pay them a fair wage whereas they got away with paying the illegals much less!!

My fellow seniors have said it so well, I find it infuriating that illegals receive so much, have many, many "American"they don't even bother getting a D/L or carry insurance. I think we have more Mexicans in the US than Mexico has!
