why do they rarely play the ball? in the endzone, they should never look at the receiver, just the ball-half the corners in the nfl have no ability to track the ball at all-since the nfl has prohibited players from touching the receiver, the corners should act like receivers and go for the ball -deion sanders, champ bailey, rod woodson, and ed reed are the only corners/safeties worth a damn

playing corner is hard if only for the fact you can't watch the QB and the receiver at the same time unless you want to play behind the receiver and give up a completion every time. the safties are supposed to play the quarterback unless the coverage is inverted with the safeties playing underneath.
Sean Taylor is good... many others are good also.

QB's arms are too strong in the pro's to make an adjustment on the ball if you're not already in position... If they don't play the recievers, the WR's will just move to a open spot and before you can say "touchdown" the ball will be there...
Don't blame the defensive backs... blame the NFL for making it so easy on QB's and WR's to complete a pass.

i don't think they are stupid this is just a tough position to play especially against talented QB/Receivers,
you can't be successful all the time defending a good pass to a NFL wide receiver.
corner backs are not the only players who work out and prepare for the game QBs/Receiver work hard studying them.

they are not that stupid, even if they lay finger on the wide recievers it's pass interference. when the reciever trips himself and falls and the cornerback lays a finger on him it's pass interference some of the rules are stupid.
