I am sick to death of them. My poor son comes home from school at least once a month with them.
I am one of the responsible parents that treats them correctly with the nit comb and the full marks solution.
Other less caring parents are obviously not doing anything as my son keeps getting them.
I have informed his school and they send out a letter but there must be a child in his class that doesnt get his hair treated.
Does anyone else remember the nit nurse who used to visit schools every month to check ALL childrens hair and treat if needed.
Bring her back!!!

Some mad scientist is going to read this, get the wrong impression, and in 20 years or so it will be the height of fashion to own tiny, genetically-modified tigers that sit on your head. Could they be trained to pick out head lice, though? That's the real question.

No please.Don't try and save them.My daughter catches them all the time in school.I spend day after day getting rid of them and she goes back to school and gets them again.
I don't think the lice are under attack,I think the it's the lice attacking.

It should be made a criminal offence that parents who refuse to check or deal with their childs "Nit" problem should be charged with child neglect.
As for "they are close to extinction" I wouldnt worry about that at all at least 6 children in my childs class are ensuring the survival of the species!!!

Why not use your head as a head lice reserve. Somewhere they could live and breed without fear of being killed or washed away.
