My younger brother the computer whiz/nerd is certain that there is a bigger pool of players in China than in the US for World of Warcraft. He is basing this just on the fact that China has a population of 1 billion. I still think the US has more players though. Which is it?

China by far, except most of them don't play casually or for fun.. They play because it is their job to get paid by americans too lazy to level their characters. lol. I remember when I played I was being pm'ed at least every 3-5 minutes from a powerleveling service. My friend read an article somewhere about WoW addiction and in it talked about how an estimated 50,000 chinese people depend on WoW for an income. However, way more than 50,000 chinese people play the game, that was just a number of people who probably work for powerleveling services.

China and South Korea have far more WoW players then the U.S.

Individually I'd say china does, although many of them have government regulated play times, and heavy game censorship (Undead models no longer show bone in the Chinese Client) Not to metion WoW gold farmers are all from china.
