Your question is broader than anyone could ever hope to answer in this medium. However, what you have described is essentially epistemology, which is the field of philosophy describing the relationship between knowledge and belief:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epistemology

The questions this field of philosophy attempts to address include:

When is something true?
When is one's experience knowledge?
When do you have enough evidence to justifiably believe something?
What is the difference between belief and knowledge (degrees of truth)?

Plato and Socrates are examples of ancient scholars who examined these questions. Best of luck in your search!

well.,..thinking without knowledge equals no thinking, don't you think?! For example if u tell a kid to think about algebra, or some chemical equations,..I'm pretty sure u can't get anything outta them because they don't own any knowlege to that!..so I guess different knowledges and different thinking,..it's is neither one induce another or vice versa. But sometimes thiking do depends upon knowlege!..I mean higher IQ or EQ the more thoughtful u r!.

But of course u can argue not in the academic field!..if a child hav more experience on dealing with more adult matters. I mean if a child is more mature, the thought they generate maybe somehow more mature then some of the 'pumpkin-head adults''...I mean as the time go passed, more kid learn how to be an adult sooner, they start to think more and do more,..so blame the TV on dat one!

but sometimes, u do own the knowledge, but it's up to you wether u want to expand the horizon or not,..like me, I don't waste my time on thinking the useless thing, where sometimes these useless thing may consider very important to other people.

So I guess in a way,..if u want to process some thinkin, u do need some knowlege but if you hav the knowledge, u don't necessary hav to use them on thinking,..right?!

Knowledge is a rightly justified truth belief. But a belief and a thought are not the same thing. thought is a consideration, belief is a conviction. a belief can be right/wrong true/false. a thought is just a thought, not judgement, so it cant be wrong or right. you think about things in and of themselfs, like the idea of a circle. you believe/disbelieve about things in the world.

so a Thought asserted about the world, which is true, and which is rightly justified is Knowledge.

Knowledge is accumulated thoughts which have been sifted by experience.

You know something because you (or somebody else) has learned it through experience. Thought is an essential part of that selection process, but thought in itself is not knowledge.

Thinking is a process for answering questions, while knowledge is the source of processing answer.

'Thinking' is a verb and 'knowledge' is an abstract noun. The process 'thinking' uses and acts upon its substance 'knowledge' as it is found in its memory.

Its Will is positive, its Judgment is negative.
