I've heard and know of several people that stay together for financial reasons. I personally think its weird but if it works until everyone can afford to move out on their own, I guess it has to be. I would think, that it would really cramp your dating style until the move.

I don't think it is weird, it may not be the norm - but when you are in college you do what you need to do, right? I know someone who couldn't afford her off campus housing - she faked domestic abuse so she could live in a women's shelter for free and finish grad school.. Now that is weird!
It might make for an awkward situation if either you or your ex gets involved with someone else. Just be upfront about it.

As long as you are all comfortable with the situation then I don't see a problem. it's great that you and your ex are actually still able to be friends without any of that "is he flirting with me, what does this mean, does he want me back" and "I'm deliberately going to leave the cap off the toothpaste because i know it's going to annoy the crap out of her" nonsense. good for you for being mature enough to get on with life.

That's not weird at all, Wait 8 months until you join the real world with the rest of us fools.
Then you'll have some interesting questions to ask.

As long as all of you are clear on the situation, why shouldn't you? If you ended things with your ex on a mutual basis, rather than because one of you hurt the other, there's no reason why you can't still be friends.

stay with it as long as possible to save money, unless ex gets a new boyfriend.then that would be weird.don't try to hit on her friend, that would cause a war because the friend will tell her in a heartbeat.but as long as everything is cool,i would hang in there for 8or 9 months.

Why do you care what we think, man?
Is this the sort of Linguine-spined, anyway the wind blows, poll-taking jer Coughs we're producing at the collegiate level? Holy scat on a platter, boy. Man up and bang em both.
Tequila and pot.
Get on it. Now's a good time. Bake em and wake em, fuggah!

It sounds pretty awesome if you and the ex have parted on reasonable terms and still get along .
