There must be a government mandate on recycling. Something as simple as dividing waste into plastics, bundled paper and aluminum/metals would be a start. Containers for each would be provided by each municipality and picked up once a week. This would reduce the need for landfills and provide needed jobs as well. I also read somewhere recently that human waste was being used as a non-polluting energy source!

I would correct the biggest of all Environmental problems,Government and big Biz attitudes of profits over the health of our planet. There is no reason other than GREED to still be useing fossil fuels. Auto makers were mass producing Electric trucks in the 1920's . I just watched an educational program on PBS about solar panels and how they are being improved every day and will be on every new building within the next 10 years . The film was made in the early 1960's. The oil; co .were the first to get filthy stinking rich and have stomped out any and all clean energy technology's to protect there golden goose, Why they wouldn't invest in these technology's and make there fortunes that way is beyond Ignorant.

Would have enforced strictly pollution control laws.Transports emitting CO,S,N2 be banned from plying in the roads,adhere Euro Norms.Strict vigil.Factories polluting the atmosphere,water,air to be told to take corrective measure strictly.No compromise.Greenery to be maintained and to be increased.Use of plastic bag to be banned and so on.Public awarness is also a must.

I would choose to eliminate the environmental problem none as...."Al Gore". It is a huge ball of corrosive gas floating around America belching out polluted filth and defiling our air, water and ground resources. It consumes our nations natural resources at an alarming rate for it's own pleasures. It poisons everything it comes in contact with and it invented such things as the Internet and global warming. This is an infection on a global scale it must be dealt with or the IQ of a nation will drop a few notches when it floats into the vicinity.
