Why is it that young girls and teenagers are looking up to wh*res like paris hilton and sophie monk. People of this ilk have no class, theyre selfish, talentless and are without even a trace of common decency.
So what am I missing - why do people admire such people?

Because, the media keeps giving them air time, rather than just ignoring them.

If you put them on tv, kids will say "oh that's cool she's famous", and want to be them, if you just ignore them, they will go away.

Centexdance got the point right. TV has enormous power of influence on peoples minds these days.

As a side note, I think that Paris is a nice girl (I do not know much about the other one). Paris is a normal girl who just happened to be born in a very wealthy family, but that does not make her any of what you said about her above. Besides, there are many rich kids out there who simply throw money earned by their families over generations, while Paris is probably the only one who managed to actually make money out of her lavish lifestyle. That makes her kind of special.

Poor upbringing. Anyone who doesn't care if their daughter goes to jail by not respecting law. Thinking money can buy anything. I like the judge that taught her a lesson. I think she is a better person for that now.

those girls are skinny and spoiled, "*****" is a lifestyle and seems to be in and the media is what young girls and people without their own sense of style look to for guidance. i guess being a ***** is socially acceptable and uhh the cool thing to do?
