Analysis for Proverbs 17:28?

--"Even a stubborn fool is thought to be wise if he keeps silent. He is considered intelligent if he keeps his lips sealed."

What does this mean to you?

Has anyone heard the famous quote by Ben Franklin, "It is better for you to keep silent and have people think you're stupid, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt."?

they run quite similar.... if a stupid person keeps silent, there is nothing to confirm his stupidity instead he gets the benefit of learning from other people by listening.

on the other hand, a fool who keeps yakking will evidently prove to the world at large how stupid he is.
