Yes I believe there is life elsewhere in the universe. No, I do not believe "they" are "visiting" earth.

I believe in peanut butter, but I don't believe in:

1) Peter Pan
2) Little Green Men
3) Loch Ness Monster
4) Easter Bunny

As to Life in the Universe... probably, but so what? Even if there was intelligent life on a planet orbiting the closest star to Earth, communicating would be Very Difficult, travel would be impossible (darn close), and likely... except for putting a bee in the bonnet of the clergy (which I am always for), pointless.

Believe in something useful instead... like Conspiracy Theories!

The chance of life forms of some sort is probable. It's a big place.

The chance of intelligent life at this point in time is less probable. Our "intelligent" life form (meaning one that is aware of existence and death) has only been around for a couple of million years, and it's only 3,000 years ago that we still had stone tools, 70 years ago that we could broadcast our presence, and 50 years that we could even escape our planet's gravity. The universe has been here 14 billion years, so a lot of civilisations could have happened and un-happened in that time. But it's still a big place.

Having said that, and with our very limited view, so far no direct evidence has been seen for the existence of any life form anywhere other than Earth.

Yes, strongly. The universe is huge, and it seems kind of pointless to have so many other planets and galaxies and have nothing on them. There have been too many UFO and alien sightings and abduction stores to discredit the possibility of alien life.

It's practically impossible, probability wise, that our planet is the only one in the Universe which has advanced, intelligent lifeforms. So my answer is, yes, absolutely there are other intelligent lifeforms in the Universe.

With billions of Suns in the galaxies, many with planets going around them like ours, to believe that our planet is the only one with intelligent life is naive
