I don't think so. Sometimes the best way to stop abuse is to end the cycle. My contribution to society is to not have any children I'd just screw up. Sure, there's a chance I could rise above it and be a good parent, but why take the chance?

I'll lay my life down and be the man God sent me to be the day I have my little one. And from that moment on, I promise to God that I will give every second of my life that I possibly can for him/her so s/he'll carry on the generation in a good manner. I have a lot of doubt in me. So much it sometimes changes my mind of even having a kid, because I don't want to put him/her in the same position I'm at with my father. He was a heavy drinker and a smoker. When he found out my mother was pregnant with me, he decided to man up and handle his business. I barely escaped the birth effects although I function a tense bit slower than most people. But the main problem we have is that we hardly see each other or talk and we're just so quiet towards each other, that I doubt we'll ever be able to reach out towards each other. Now I would love nothing more in the world than to have a child of my own, but it takes a man with steel-iron-brass balls to turn his spawn in the right direction. Especially these days with the distraction of this technology, and I'm real afraid that they'll be ashamed me. And something deep down in my soul that I hate keeps reminding me off that.

I have some doubt, as I have recently exhibited some hate of children, but my Buddhist beliefs are puling away the anger on that focus. Me? I'm a very, very progressive individual, and I don't believe in tradition. Tradition only preserves the past for no apparent reason, and the past is unlikely to work properly with new generations.
Seeing as I'd be all too willing to submit to new ideas, progression, and follow the faith knowing that I'd raise an intelligent, thinking for himself (I don't think I could raise a girl) child, I assume I would be properly capable of raising a boy.

Definitely would make a good parent, I will have my own parents as examples and my brothers and their wives as well. Plus I guess it goes by what you think is right and not right in raising a child.

Not yet at least. I still have a lot of things to do before that happens. Maybe one day I will.
