Well, I am not a science major, but here it is:

The natural light that you see is a blue light. The blue has something to do with the light spectrum from the sun. The blueness has nothing to do with the color of the ocean as water is colorless. If you scoop up ocean water, you will see it is clear. The blue ocean appearance has to do with the reflection from the blueness in the sky above. Then when the sun is setting, the light "bends" and sometimes you can see the sky is pinkish, lavender, or orangy. Finally at night, the sunlight is blocked out by the position of our planet so the sky is dark, which makes the sky appear black.

Note: From my own experience, if you wear sunglasses with a brown lens (which has an orangy hue), you can see a little more clearly. I think this is because the orange color is opposite of blue on the color wheel.

The sky is blue all the time. It's just that during the day the sky is bright enough to see. If you take a really long shot with your camera at night at low magnification, you'll be able to see the sky is blue at night.

The sky is black at night because you are facing away from the sun and as you know space is black.the reason why it is blue is because we are facing the sun and im guessing why it is blue in day because of the water is blue and all the protective layers cause the sky in the day to go blue(i guessed why it is blue at night)

the sky is blue in day becouse of the reflection of the sun in the ocean so it turns in color blue then at night it is black because the sun does not no longer reflect the ocean... and at night is black because, you know that the universe is really black...
