"Enemy" implies animosity - you wouldn't have a friendly enemy. "Adversary" merely means someone who opposes you, so you could compete against someone without disliking them.

You adversary and your enemy both oppose you, but "enemy" has a stronger emotional meaning. An adversary might be someone with whom you play a game of checkers. Any enemy is someone you go to war against.

there isnt that big a difference, they pretty much mean the same thing. Adversary is "someone who offers opposition" enemy means the same, but using the word enemy sounds as tho you hold ill-will towards someone while adversary does not.

an Adversary is an opponent some one your fighting right now at sports or a game or whatever, an Enemy is someone u hate over a long time.

ADVERSARY is having 9 words & ENEMY is having 5 words,

in adversary only word "E" coming once and in enemy it is coming 2 times

there is no word"M" in adversary but in enemy it is.....

Adversary does not think or do any harm to you either physically or mentally or socially whereas an enemy is always looking to make you look down in this world.

adversary is the person that is an oponent in a contest or competition and enemy is the person who engages in any kind of antagonistic activites against another person.

besides the spelling? yes enemy is more derogative than adversary. adversary is more honerable. nicer way of saying it

I don't believe there is any difference between the meaning of the two words. They are interchangeable.
