This is a tough one...

In order for me to deem a person "dating material" they have to be at least a little attractive for my taste so looks are important.

On the other hand if they do not have a decent personality it will not work because nobody wants a Jessica Simpson or some other chick with no personality or brains for that matter.

Anybody that says either looks or personality is more important than the other is bullsh*tting you! There are some people they know they would never date based on looks and hopefully there are some they would never date based on personality. If they would date somebody with a terrible personality they are either (A) desperate (B) shallow or (C) both.

Hope this helps!

It all depends on who you ask! My husband would probably say that they each cancel each other out at times (he can be brutally honest at times), but most would say that my personality would win out over my looks, not so much that I'm unattractive, but I've gained a lot of weight over the past few years which has affected my overall appearance in some ways.

Society is based upon the fact that pretty is in-ugly is out. It would be so cool if we all didnt judge each other by the way we look but thats just the hard truth. most people stand in front of a mirror for a good while before going out in public to assure themselves that they are in fact "good enough" to be seen outside. So really what difference does it make what I think of myself to the outside world, we all know what theyre thinking!!!

In my teens ans 20s it was my looks. In my 20s to 40s it was both. Now, at age 65, I am left with personality.

I think my personality, for those people who like deep things that actually matter when youre 95 years old.

In my opinion, the majority of people judge too much by the way people look. We should be more open, as a whole.
