my best friend wants kids

and she likes the names victoria and harley.

i hate those names.
they both sound strange.

what should i tell her

what do you think about those names.

you can tell her what you think if you have that kind of open relationship, but don't make her change the names she likes because you don't like them. When it comes to naming your kids you can choose the names you like.

I think they are both beautiful, unique names. That can be used in many combinations.

Victoria Nicole
Victoria Grace
Victoria Rose

Harley Skye
Harley Breanne
Harley Ellysse

I think that when it is time for your friend to have children, she will find the perfect name that fits her child well. As for your comments to her about her choice of name. Unless she asks you, it's not your place to say anything at all. Besides, you'll have a time naming your own children one day! And trust me when I say WHATEVER you choose to name your child, there will always be someone out there who doesn't care for your choice of name.

I personally love the name Victoria. I plan to name my daughter that when I have one. Harley is an interesting name. But they are her children, if it were me , and it were my best friend and I didn't like the names, I would just tell her that I didn't like the names. It's your opinion vs. her opinion

Victoria is sweet and feminine, but Harley reminds me of a motorcycle and I cannot imagine a doctor, lawyer or president with that name.

Perhaps you could get her a baby name book for a gift. She may tire of them before the baby is born or she may find something she likes better.

Seriously, theyre her kids and her time to choose names. Dont give her any grief.

I hated when people shot down my names.

But just to let you know I really dont like Harley and Victoria is very pretty.

They're her kids and she can name them whatever she wants. It's not like she's naming them something off the wall like "Pencil Sharpener" or something like that. You and she just have different tastes when it comes to names. Be a good friend and be supportive of her. Don't butt in unless she asks your opinion - and if she asks, be sweet about it.

I think Victoria is very pretty, Tori or Vicky for short. I don't like Harley though, makes me think of the motorcycles which are loud and obnoxious. Please keep in mind though that they will be her kids, not yours so keep your feelings to yourself. You can, however, try to gently guide her towards other names that you do like and she may change her mind. (Avoid saying that you would name your kid that or she may avoid it so she doesn't step on your toes!)

Well, it is her choice. I wouldn't tell her you don't like them because it might hurt her feelings but you can buy her a baby name book and go thru it with her. Point out the names that you think are cute and it might change her mind.

I love both of the names.

Hate is a very strong word considering this is your friend.

Please let her choose what name she wants. If she changes the name she might resent you the rest of her life.

If she asks...do n't say you hate them, just give her some other options. and then keep your mouth shut
