I had some 190 proof mixed with juice once at a party many years ago... but the strongest I've had straight is 151 proof rum. Last time I had that was this past summer.

At least 150 proof if not waaay more - a group I used to be involved with about fifteen years ago, House Drunken Badger, made their own concoction called Badger Brew. I don't know what all went into it, as the recipe is secret, but they made enough one year at Pennsic War to fill two 55 gallon drums. The base ingedients were fruit punches and juices, tons of chopped apples, sliced peaches, pineapples, grapes, orange wedges, and pear chunks, not to mention gallons and gallons of various grain alcohols. The two things about Badger Brew was that 1. they made a version with the fruit and a version without, and 2. if you really wanted to get drunk in a hurry you drank (and ate) the fruity version. Thing was, no matter what version you had, it tasted like fruit juice - no kick, and no aftertaste. It was so smooth you couldn't tell the difference between it and plain fruit punch - until you tried to stand up and everything got all wiggly. After a whole week of saturation the fruit was so full of alcohol we used to toss the occasional grape in the campfire just to watch it explode.

I had two shots of some crazy bootleg moonshine on Thanksgiving when I was 17 that was serious. It made 151 taste weak.

The highest that you can buy is Everclear (which I have drank gallons of by now) and moonshine which is 99% alcohol.
