To gain maturity and being responsible, try to read books that teach life, take most time talking with mature people who make good sense, ask them questions. Watch documentaries. With time you'll get more and more mature. As for responsibility, there are kids of 10 and12 who can be babysitter, you can do this with your little brother or sister or neibor. Teach lesson to a child. You can go visit older people at the hospital... many things you can do to learn to be able to be reliable. There's a shortage of young man like you who want to do good. Show what you can do and it'll pay you deerly in the end, not in money, but in your research. Good luck to you and take care!

You have taken the first step to being mature, by asking. I for one think that maturity is something that can be obtained two ways: 1- you naturally grow into it, and it is just your personality to be mature.
2- you work at it, and practice holding your temper, and expressing yourself in a way that isn't abusive or demeaning to others. When you ask a question, wait for the answer, before you start in on what the person has already said, but not waiting for the whole answer.
Try to listen to people more, with out interrupting them or saying things negative about their beliefs.
If you know an answer to something, wait until you are asked, don't just blurt things out.
Responsibility will come to you as you do mature. Don't try to take on too much, and fail. It is much smarter, and more MATURE to admit to your shortcomings, then to try to BS your way through something you don't understand.
So be patient with yourself, and others too. The more understanding, patient, and your willingness to be 2nd will speak for itself. Once you are recognized as a mature person, others will be more inclined to trust you with responsibility!
So keep up the attitude, and good luck to you!!

just be patient, learn from the mistakes you make, (and remember not to do the same thing again!!). that's for maturity. responsablility is in your own hands bud. when someone is counting on you, even to just watch their dog for the weekend, they are granting you trust! So dont let them down, be responsible. After a while, you can be a truley responsible member of society.
plus it does help to let the years age you so that you may aquire knowledge.

You can't BUY it and you can't fake it. Gaining maturity is the process of continually putting aside childish and imature thoughts. You can not go from Imature to mature in one fell swoop, it is a process of taking in ideas, mulling them, applying them (getting experience) and moving to another idea and either finding the first one good and the new one unacceptable or vice-versa.
Responsibility is the rigorous application of known ideas that are suited to your approach to life.
Charecter is society's judgement of you as you continue to sort through all of the ideas of the world.
THINK about that for awhile
