No, but it's the best of the worst. It has its problems too. The problems with other arrangements is that the public is wholly at the mercy of those in power. Sometimes they might have someone great in power. But often not, they don't, and then they have little recourse.
So overall, yes. It's not perfect, but it's the best we have.

Benevolent dictatorships have done well economically. In the US, democracy is transforming to corpratacracy (rule by corporations) and that does very well economically for those earning their incomes from their wealth.
So it depends what you mean by feasable.
