Husband drinks, so I want to have fun and not worry about his drinking. He wants to go somewhere with me and we haven't been out in a very long time.

Social ballroom. They usually don't sell alcohol there, only soft drinks if anything at all. If you don't know how to dance ballroom - here is a good opportunity to start a new hobby together. There is usually a beginner class before the dancing starts. You can find one near you on http://www.accessdance.com

Well, depending on where you live, you can do a google search to find places around your town (dancing). Does he even want to dance? Maybe that is why he drinks because he can't think of anything better to do...
Why not try ice skating (close contact, if you know what I mean)? Or go to a movie? Try visiting a miniature golf course. Play video games at an arcade (it'll be fun especially if you don't know what you are doing.) go to the beach, or mountains, or whatever you've got and take a walk or a bike ride. Have a picnic. Play hide and go seek at the mall. Yes, you read it right, you are never too old for that! Be creative. At first you might think it is cheesy, but think of the fun you will have and the sparks will come back. Alcohol doesn't have to be involved...

First of all that depends on where u live. Somewhere u can dance without a bar....think outside any bar would cover that. But there are some places that have live music in the streets with dancing all around...but if u would like to be more discreet i suggest hire a hall or small dance studio or anywhere nice really where u will have room to move.

Well, that's hard to say because we do not know what state you live in. I live in PA and there are a lot of "clubs" and even jazz clubs where one can go to eat, drink and dance. So it depends if you live in a big city, you shouldn't have any problem finding places that have dancing--especially now around the holidays, there are a lot of charity events (at least in my area) and some are even formal, where it is a night of dinner dancing and of course, drinking if you want to.......check the yellow pages and call a few places and watch your newspaper and TV for upcoming events......good luck.......and if there are no places, there's nothing wrong with putting on some Sirius radio or some great CD's and having a good time at home.....why not?

Larger cities still have a few places for dinner and dancing, but they're not common. The other alternative just for dancing is to look for a nearby chapter of USA Dance. Check out http://www.usabda.org .

i'm not sure there is a place like that. unless you are already aware of a special function (like @ church or something) otherwise, i think you are pretty much out of luck. you might try to google places in your area with "non alcoholic clubs" or something of the sort.
good luck

there are some really great places in downtown houston, texas. if you don't live in houston, all i can think of is to go to a really nice restaurant and dance there (if they allow it) or in your living room!
