All are good saws. Each have the good and bad points. Stihl is the #1 selling saw in the world. They also have over 8,000 dealers in the US. You cannot get them in Lowe's or Home Depot, like Echo, and Husqvarna. Husqvarna ownes Jonsered, and Poulan brands. The Craftsman saws in Sears are made by Poulan. It boils down to personal preference and where you can get good service. I would go with Stihl, there are dealers all over the US and they are easy to work on.

I've used Echo, Husqvarna and Stihl chainsaws on many occasions. Stihl is the best for continuous commercial use but Echo is the best value for money for the weekend warrior as it comes with a 5yr domestic warranty which no one else offers on a chainsaw.

If you have a local distributor I would select a stihl. You should have a local distributor so 10 years down the road when you need a repair part you have somewhere to go.. I hate to admit how many good saws I have disposed of over the years due to lack of locally available repair parts.
