and we have sex around the time I ovulate without protection and I don't get pregnant, does that mean that he may not be able to have kids. I know I am able because I have one already. Or does it just happen like that sometimes? I am worried that he isn't able.

Three months really isn't long enough to start worrying. Try for three more months and then get his sperm count tested. I have heard that it costs around $100, but I don't know for sure and different doctors have different charges and fees anyhow. Also, you could try to have sex every single day... I have tried every other day but it just gets too much of a "chore" for us sometimes... because I have to lay there and I don't want any of it to come out and blah blah blah the TTC crap lol... but if you can have sex every single day, that would really up your chances. If you are really afraid of him having low sperm count, then it would be best if you had sex every other day instead... that will give him more of a chance to build his sperm back up because those who have a low sperm count need that extra time.

I am going to give you my standard answer.......go get a book called "taking charge of your fertility" by Toni Weschler. It will help you truly understand your body and cycle and erase all the myths that women believe about their bodies.I believed all the ovulation & conception myths that are floating around here until we tried for a year with no luck. My doctor recommended the book and it worked the very next month! It turned out my timing was wrong and that I don't ovulate in the middle of my cycle like most women.
I'll be 40 in Nov....and I am due to have my 4th in March!

3 mths trying really isn't very long and it certainly doesn't mean he's shooting blanks!

It just means that the egg hasn't been fertilised or implanted. Just think how much has to happen at the exact right time in order to fall pregnant. The average time to fall pregnant is 6mths and you are supposed to see a doctor if nothing has happened in 12mths.

If it eases your mind, take him to have his sperm counted but I think you should be pregnant in the next few months.

best of luck

Have him tested. It is a lot easier to have him tested, and it costs less than if you were to be tested. Just because you have had one without problems, doesn't mean you are still able to concieve. One of the ladies at my church had one boy, couldn't get preggo for 8 years, got help and had tripplets, then got pregnant a year later without help. All with the same man. So it could be you. But still, have him tested first since it is easier.
