I just purchased carpet and had two sizings done by two differant companies. one company tells me I need 55 yards the other company tells me I need 72 yards. I have the company that tells me I need 72 yards because it's better carpet and cheaper. I pull tag off end of carpet to double check how much carpet they had delivered but it's in meters???? can anyone convert the meters listed on delivered carpet "366 X 01646 meters" to yards for me? other measurements on tags were "12.00 X 054.00 ACT-BAC" I think the carpet was 12 feet wide but what does the 054.00 mean? HELP PLEASE

it means 12 feet by 54 feet.......
you multiply those two numbers and get squre footage.....
you then divide that by nine and you get square yards which is......................
72............

To keep a salesperson honest, do you homework and ask questions.
1. Measure your rooms first.
2. Ask how wide the carpet is avalible in, 12, 13 or 15 ft.
3. When they measure your carpet, ask to see the seam layout and final measurements.

By following these steps you can ensure you don't get overcharged. The sq yds of the carpet will be more than what is measured, but not by that much. By looking at seam placements you can see how much carpet may actually be wasted. The key is to have the least amount of waste.

No offense to anyone but I think you asked for a conversion???

1.38 M = 1 yd. The fraction goes out about 5 digits but why bother. BTW, the conversions are easy to find on the WWW.
