Some one, please tell me what it is about sports (especially team sports) that makes people become so obsessed with which team wins, loses, etc. I don't see any thing wonderful about watching a bunch of guys running around chasing some sort of a ball.

I live in Wisconsin where many people worship the Packers. Huge throngs make the pilgrimage to attend services at the Lambeau Field Cathedral. In addition practically every house around here (except mine) has outdoor or indoor shrines to Bret Favre or some other player. The shrines and displays to the ENTIRE team have lights and flags on them!

I do not understand this fanaticism. And, the idea that some people get so worked up to the point of violence toward the other teams' fans absolutely escapes me.

No wise cracks, please. Just tell me why you are so enthusiastic.

Watching sports and/or rooting for sports teams is a fun way to build a sense of camaraderie with other people. Its not just the game - its the whole experience...tailgating, getting groups together to watch games, people watching at games, etc.

Cheering on a local sports team can help people in the area feel a sense of bonding and community. And, of course, college sports can be a way for alumni of the university to still feel connected with their alma mater.

I understand people who follow team sports far more than I understand people who get worked up over who's going to get voted off some reality show (Dancing With the Stars, American Idol, Survivor, etc...all that stuff I never bother to watch.)

I have located the reverse truthfully. I have spotted that extra individuals are turning to the Pagan ideals notably the ones of the "conventional" household religions right here within the US. I have met extra Christians residing with despair and uncertainty - however those are quite often the ones of the extra Fundamentalist ideals in my discipline. They consider like that what their Deity has left them seeing that one of the vital following, no longer praying quite often adequate, no longer studying their bible quite often adequate, no longer serving to of their church extra, no longer going to church quite often adequate ect. The guilt tricky is quite often related via taking note of pastors that make themselves look as though they've an immediate connection to the God himself or that he is aware of greater than his parishioners. It is gloomy. But I wager it's feasible in any notion methods no longer simply the New Age or the revived Pagan religions. Some of the newcomers to the Pagan ideals get disheartened in the event that they get the flawed trainer or the flawed data. It is satisfactory to comply with to your center and feel what's correct for you than anther's course. Just my point of view on it. Blessed be and Peace

It's hard to explain, it's like a cult. I come from Brooklyn and we take our sports seriously and your from Wisconsin, Football is huge out their. It's entertaining, why do you watch TV? Sports is not for everyone but should be, I'm still looking for a woman who loves sports, she'll be my soul mate.
